Outlook rule "Defer 2 mins delay mail delivery" does not work for mails which are resend.

Hello,

I have an Outlook rule created as "Defer 2 mins delay mail delivery" to delay all the mails for 2 mins sent from the outlook. The rule works just fine normally. But it is not working when I do resend of any email. Instead of staying 2 mins in outbox, it starts sending immediately. This works in MS Office 2010. But does not work in MS Outlook 2013.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Manjunath,

I can reproduce this issue if I resend an email that I sent a few minutes ago. However, if I resend an email that I sent a few days ago, it will be delayed for 2 minutes.

I've been researching and testing for a long time on this issue, I can't say this is by design or a limitation since I haven't found any related documentation stating this. I'll submit a feedback through internal way, and I'll keep you updated if I get any update.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Hi,

Outlook 2013 offers a number of delivery options, including receipts for message tracking, delayed delivery, and reply-to settings.

These options can be easily accessed from the message composition windows.

  • While composing a message, click on the Options tab to view basic delivery options.

  • Selecting the open Window icon in the lower right-hand corner of the Tracking and More Options areas will open a separate window with additional delivery options.
